Group Expectations

• Project goals

  • Empower Ma Esther to share the experiences of how and why she came to America

  • Raise awareness for one of the most tragic humanitarian crises of our time

  • Respectfully construct film to preserve Ma Esther’s dignity, poise, and strength as she went through a time that neither of us will (hopefully) ever be able to understand

• Quality of Work and Standards

  • Expect group members to meet on time for all group sessions, meeting 1-2 times/ week for the rest of the semester

  • Expect group members to do their best work though we understand they are still new with to working on this type of a project

  • Group members should be motivated to do this assignment, not simply for a grade, but because we owe it to Ma Esther, who shared one of the most intimate parts of who she is, to go above and beyond, creating the best project that we possibly can

• Group Ideas

  • All group members will be encouraged to think about the project and research outside of group sessions to bring their thoughts in at the next meeting time

  • The collaboration will be understood as the best and only way of completing this assignment

 

Group Procedures

• Software & File Organization

  • We will be using Nero Video 2017 to create the product on Will’s computer, working collaboratively

  • Files will be saved and organized on USB data and cloud storage

  • Files will be saved as such: “Filename-Last name of last person who edited-Date”

• Meeting Times/Days/Location

  • Group will meet at library or GHH as specified at previous meetings

  • Group members will meet on Mondays from 10-2, and ???

• Communication between meetings

  • Group members will communicate via email and text messaging

 

Personal Accountability

• Attendance Responsibility

  • Group members will be expected to attend all group meetings and respond to communication in a timely fashion

  • Self-assigned tasks are expected to be completed between meetings

  • Group members who do not comply with contract will have to watch more videos on the Liberian civil war until they realize the importance of the assignment
